From NC Hwy 158, turn left onto Route 12, heading Northeast, toward Corolla; Drive approximately 15 miles, passing Wild Horse Adventure Tours, and turn right at Seabird Way; Drive down Seabird Way and then turn right onto Sanderling Trail; Shortly after, turn left onto Skimmer Arch until you see Wild Hearts at Ocean Sands.

Getting Here

The Outer Banks is a destination for visitors from everywhere East of the Mississippi River, as far north as Michigan and Maine, and as far South as Florida, making it the ideal beach vacation destination for couples and families of all sizes and ages.

By Car

The Outer Banks is so popular because it is a convenient drive of 15 hours or less from most points mentioned above. Several major highways feed visitors to the area. Opportunities to veer off the beaten path and travel smaller picturesque paths are also an option.

By Foot

Visitors will find that a vehicle is almost a necessity once they arrive. The Outer Banks constitutes over 120 miles of beaches and attractions from Corolla to Ocracoke and there is no official public transportation that runs its entire length.

In recent years the towns have added sidewalks and bike paths to accommodate pedestrians and bikers. Taxi service is available on the northern beaches. Yet the distances between many places are still so great as to warrant a car, so be prepared to rent a car at the airport if you fly in.

Once you get to Duck, you will be able to park your car and enjoy miles of bike paths and sidewalks in a pedestrian-friendly town unlike any other on the Outer Banks.

Car Rental

Enterprise is the only national car rental service on the Outer Banks, with locations in Kill Devil Hills and in Elizabeth City (about 70 miles away on the mainland).
